This Privacy Policy describes how 8th Origin LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the StrikeRight Shopify application (“the App”). By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Store Information

When you install the App, we access the following through the Shopify API:

• Your store domain name (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com)
• Automatic discount configurations (discount titles, amounts, targeted products/collections, active status)
• Product information (product handles, variant IDs) necessary to display correct pricing

2.2 Account Information

Through Shopify’s OAuth process, we receive:

• Your Shopify store owner name and email address
• Session tokens for authenticated access

2.3 App Settings

We store your configuration preferences within the App, including:

• Which discounts you have selected to display
• Display settings (color preferences, preview mode, stacking preferences)

2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect customer personal data (names, emails, addresses, payment info)
• We do not track or collect any data from your store’s visitors or customers
• We do not use cookies on your storefront
• We do not collect browsing behavior or analytics from your store’s customers
• We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above solely to:

• Operate and provide the App’s functionality (displaying strikethrough prices on your storefront)
• Sync your automatic discounts from Shopify
• Save your display preferences and settings
• Authenticate your access to the App within Shopify admin

4. Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored on secure servers hosted on Fly.io infrastructure located in the United States
• Database access is encrypted and restricted to the App’s server processes only
• Session tokens are managed through Shopify’s official session storage library
• We use HTTPS for all data transmission between your store, Shopify, and our servers
• We retain your data only for as long as the App is installed on your store

5. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or disclose your information to any third parties, except:

• Shopify: We interact with Shopify’s API to read discount and product data, and to manage discount settings when stacking prevention is enabled. This is governed by Shopify’s own privacy policy.
• Infrastructure providers: Our hosting provider (Fly.io) and database services process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, or legal process.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• When you uninstall the App, your store data (settings, cached discounts, session information) is deleted from our servers.
• If stacking prevention was enabled, original discount settings are restored before deletion.
• You may request data deletion at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about your store
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing activities

8. GDPR Compliance

For merchants and customers in the European Economic Area (EEA):

• We process data as a “data processor” on behalf of you, the merchant (“data controller”)
• Our legal basis for processing is the performance of the contract (providing the App’s services)
• Data is transferred to and stored in the United States using appropriate safeguards

9. CCPA Compliance

For merchants in California:

• We do not sell personal information
• We do not collect personal information from your store’s customers
• You have the right to know what data we collect and to request its deletion

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
